Scott talks with healthcare activist Peter Morley about the start of open enrollment for the Affordable Care Act on healthcare.gov today. Best known as Obamacare, the law’s provisions protecting people with “pre-existing conditions” from being dropped by private insurance companies are under constant attack from Republicans in Congress, the White House, and the courts. Morley is a cancer survivor who has visited hundreds of members of Congress — on both sides of the aisle — to share his story of fighting ten different pre-existing conditions and why the ACA helped save his life, to serve as a living example of why we need to keep improving our national healthcare system.
